In its session of 14 May 2004, the Government Council of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg adopted a logotype featuring a red lion as well as the graphic charter pertaining to it. The logotype takes its inspiration from the coat of arms of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. It is the unique visual identity of the government.
